General troubleshooting

If something in the app is not behaving as expected, these steps resolve most common issues:

  1. Close and reopen the app. Fully close Utility Tracker from the recent apps view, then open it again.
  2. Check your internet connection. Switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi to confirm the connection is working.
  3. Restart your device. This clears temporary issues that can affect any app.
  4. Update the app. Install the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Check available storage. Very low device storage can prevent an app from saving data correctly.
  6. Contact us. If the problem continues, email utility-tracker@dasteksoftwares.com with the details listed above.

Account and sign-in help

I cannot sign in

  • Confirm you are using the same email address or mobile number you registered with.
  • Check for typing errors, extra spaces, and that caps lock is off.
  • Confirm your device has a working internet connection, since sign-in requires one.
  • Re-enter your password carefully. If you have forgotten it, use the password reset option on the sign-in screen.

I did not receive my password reset email

  • Wait a short while and check again, as delivery can be delayed.
  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • Confirm the email address you entered is the one you registered with.
  • Request a new reset email, then use only the most recent link.

I want to update my profile details

Open the profile or settings section of the app to change your display name, profile image or other details you have entered.

I want to delete my account

If your app version provides account deletion in settings, you can delete your account there. Otherwise, email utility-tracker@dasteksoftwares.com from the address linked to your account and ask us to delete it. Deletion removes your account and associated records, so please export or note anything you want to keep first. See our Privacy Policy for details on retention.

Service and expense tracking help

A service is not showing in my list

  • Confirm the service was saved rather than left on an unsaved form.
  • Check any filters, categories or month selection that may be limiting what is shown.
  • Confirm you are signed in with the account used to create the entry.

My monthly total looks wrong

  • Check the rate saved for the service, as totals are calculated from the rate and the attendance you record.
  • Review the attendance entries for that month for missing, duplicated or mistyped values.
  • Confirm the month or date range being displayed is the one you intend to review.
  • Check whether payments have been recorded against the correct service and month.

An entry was recorded on the wrong date

Open the entry and edit its date, or delete it and add it again with the correct date.

My data is not appearing on another device

  • Confirm you are signed in with the same account on both devices.
  • Confirm both devices have a working internet connection.
  • Reopen the app, or use any refresh action available on the screen, to load the latest data.

PDF report help

My report will not generate or share

  • Confirm the month or date range you selected actually contains records, since an empty range produces an empty report.
  • Confirm the device has enough free storage to write the file.
  • If the share sheet does not open, close and reopen the app, then try again.

Figures in the report look wrong

  • Check the rate saved against the service, since payroll totals are calculated from the rate and the attendance you have logged.
  • Review that month’s attendance records for missing or duplicated entries.
  • Confirm payments were recorded against the correct service and month.

A report you have shared leaves the app and is handled by whichever app or service you shared it with. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Notification and reminder troubleshooting

If reminders are not arriving, check the following in order:

  1. Notification permission. On iOS, open Settings › Notifications › Utility Tracker and confirm “Allow Notifications” is on. On Android, open Settings › Apps › Utility Tracker › Notifications and confirm notifications are allowed.
  2. In-app settings. Confirm reminders are enabled in the app and that any reminder time is set as you expect.
  3. Focus and Do Not Disturb. Check that a Focus mode, Do Not Disturb or a silent schedule is not suppressing notifications.
  4. Battery optimisation (Android). Aggressive battery saving can delay background delivery. Allow background activity for Utility Tracker if reminders arrive late or not at all.
  5. Connection. Confirm the device has a working internet connection, since some notifications are delivered over the network.
  6. Reopen the app. Opening the app once can restore notification registration after an update or a device restart.

App update troubleshooting

The update will not install

  • Confirm there is enough free storage on the device.
  • Confirm the device is connected to a stable network.
  • Confirm your device runs a supported operating system version, as newer app versions may require a newer OS.
  • Restart the device, then retry the update from the App Store or Google Play.

The app behaves oddly after an update

  • Fully close the app and open it again.
  • Restart the device.
  • Confirm you are on the latest version available in your store.
  • If the problem continues, email us with the app version and a description of what changed.

Reinstalling the app

Reinstalling resolves some issues, but any data held only on the device may be lost. If your app version stores data with your account, signing in again after reinstalling restores those records. If you are unsure, contact us before reinstalling.
